I headed over to the NICU at 12:30 am to feed Simon. He fed for 25 minutes, awake. Then, fell asleep and was woken by his very unskilled mom as I struggled to get his legs back into the sleeper-wires and all after changing his diaper. He woke back up and for about 20 minutes was up looking around. At 2:10am, he had a 10 second seizure. As he turned his head to the far right, I wanted to scream NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but instead called out for Nicole-his NICU nurse. As he started to seize, I looked up at the clock to begin counting the seconds, and continued to call out for Nicole who was briefing another nurse on how he hadn't had a seizure in 34 hours ironically. I finally spit out--he's having one RIGHT NOW!!! By the time she got to the room, he had just finished, because it was such a short seizure. His vitals remained uneffected and in the normal levels. I'm not sure what this means as far as his ability to come home. I'll find out in a few hours. I just wanted to post while this was fresh in my mind.

What a stressful time for all of you! Know that we'll be thinking of you and praying for you and your sweet baby.

I REALLY hope that you will be able to bring your little guy home soon. You seemed amazingly calm yesterday. I would be a wreck in your shoes. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

Ah, Deb. I am SO sorry! I haven't been online all weekend. Simon and your family will be in my prayers. My heart aches for you. Love you!

Well Deb know this you can and will get through this and I think that taking a CPR class is an excellent idea! You will feel more confident and you will be able to know what to do if Simon ever does need you in that way! I love you, keep up the good work!

It is so great that his vitals are the same. This just means that the seizures arent effecting heart rate or breathing.
It sounded like they were before. I think you mentioned he was low on 02 at first. so this is good news if they are shorter and arent effecting him like that!
Poor tike, mom and dad! We hope it ends soon for you!

I wish I was there to do something for you and your family. But, alas, the only thing I can do is pray. And know that I am. I called the temple today to put your name and Simon's in, but of course it was closed. I will call again tomorrow. Be strong!
